Careers at Skandia Kollektiv

A different way to build a successful career in hair

Skandia Kollektiv was created for women who want more than just a place to work.

In our Salt Lake City studio, we’ve watched too many talented stylists get handed a chair and a rent bill — and then left to figure out the rest alone. So we built something different. We exist to support stylists at every stage of their career — with structure, mentorship, and strategy — so they can build sustainable, fulfilling careers without the burnout, isolation, or financial pressure that often comes with booth or suite rental.

If you’re looking for a salon that values professionalism, growth, and women supporting women — you’re in the right place. You can learn more about our studio and philosophy here, or keep reading to see what building a career here actually looks like.

This Is Not a Booth or Suite Rental Salon

And that’s intentional.

For years, the industry has pushed the idea that success means renting a booth or owning a suite.

We’ve seen the reality:

At Skandia Kollektiv, we believe talented women deserve better.

Here, you don’t have to struggle alone to build a thriving career.

We Don’t Just Provide Clients — We Teach You How to Build Them

At Skandia Kollektiv, client growth is intentional — not accidental.

Every stylist receives support with:

Our goal isn’t to keep you dependent on the salon — it’s to help you build confidence, consistency, and long-term stability in your career.

1:1 Coaching & Mentorship

This is where real growth happens

One of the most defining parts of working at Skandia Kollektiv is our commitment to individual mentorship.

We offer one-on-one coaching to help each stylist:

These conversations go far beyond hair.

We talk about vision, sustainability, fulfillment, and what kind of life you want to build — not just how busy you want to be. So much of a thriving career comes down to how you carry yourself behind the chair; if that resonates, our stylists love this read on why confidence matters in this business.

Opportunities for Women at Every Stage

We intentionally offer roles for women in different seasons of their career.

✨ Newly Licensed / Early Career

Learn in a luxury environment while building strong foundations. Gain exposure to elevated clientele, professional systems, and mentorship that sets you up for long-term success. In our studio, that includes hands-on training in the specialized techniques our guests come to us for — like NBR® (Natural Beaded Row) hair extensions and dimensional, skin-tone-tailored color. You’ll get hands-on education, close mentorship, and real experience building a career — without being rushed, overwhelmed, or thrown in unprepared.

✨ Experienced Stylists

Refine your craft, grow your clientele strategically, and work within a collaborative, supportive environment — without the pressure and isolation of working alone.

What It’s Like to Work Here

Our guests often tell us the calm, unhurried feel of the studio is exactly why they keep coming back — and that same energy is what makes it a place stylists genuinely want to work. This is a space for women who take pride in their craft and want to grow — personally and professionally. It’s the standard behind why we believe your hair deserves truly professional care, and it shows up in specialized work like our long-lasting, healthier blonding.

Who Thrives at Skandia Kollektiv

And that clarity matters — for everyone.

More Than a Job — A Long-Term Career

Skandia Kollektiv is a place to grow, refine, and build something meaningful.

Whether you’re just starting out or ready for your next chapter, we offer support, mentorship, and opportunity — without the pressure to do it all alone.

Frequently Asked Questions About Working Here

Is Skandia Kollektiv a booth rental or suite rental salon?

No — and that’s intentional. Instead of paying overhead to work alone, our stylists join a collaborative team and receive real mentorship, 1:1 coaching, and client-building support. We’d rather help you grow a sustainable career than rent you a chair and leave you to figure out the rest by yourself.

Do I need experience to work here?

Not necessarily. We intentionally create roles for women at every stage. Newly licensed and early-career stylists learn in a luxury environment with hands-on education and close mentorship, while experienced stylists refine their craft and grow their clientele strategically within a supportive team.

Will I get training in NBR® extensions and color?

Yes. As a luxury NBR® (Natural Beaded Row) and hand-tied extension studio in Salt Lake City, we mentor stylists on the systems, technique, and guest experience that elevated extension and dimensional color work require — always paired with 1:1 coaching on building the career you actually want.
